Lonohana hawaiian estate chocolate

Lonohana estate chocolate

Founder: Seneca Klassen & Lawrence Boone
Location: Honolulu, HI
Sources of cacao: Company Farm
Characteristic: American style, but as creamy as a European style bar. Why? Adaptation to harsher climes.

What Seneca learned as co-owner of a Bay Area chocolate cafe eventually led him to Hawaii to create a completely integrated supply chain from scratch. He planted his first trees in 2009 (and a few of his trees were even planted by Sunita!). Three years later his first bars are being released, and The Chocolate Garage is honored to be the first shop to share them with the public.

The Nēnē 71%

The Nēnē 71%

Beans from: Oahu, Hawaii
Tasting notes: delicious transparency

The Nēnē is endemic to Hawaii and reminds us that sometimes our most cherished things are fleeting. Seneca walks in the footsteps of those who came before, his cacao trees growing where once big industry sugarcane grew… a man on a mission to inspire (his daughter) and model a microcosm of a future he wishes to see (for her).

The Nēnē Milk 45%

The Nēnē Milk 45%

Beans from: Oahu, Hawaii
Tasting notes: creamily, decadently transparent

The Nēnē Milk shows us that the way forward to shaping the microcosm we want for our children will require comforting food and happy spaces. It will require us to be playful, creative, bold. And to dream big, creamy and delicious. Fun. That is how we will get there.

For many of us, cinammon and chocolate exemplify the flavors of chocolate. Let this bar take you back to those youthful days of daydreams and endless summers.
